be the change.

I run to be the change…

“If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping in a closed room with a mosquito”~ African Proverb

My nephew Jordan was 2 years old when he was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a deadly childhood cancer that should have taken his life. By some miracle, it didn’t. On the 10th anniversary of his diagnosis, his mom founded the “Team 4 Hope”, a local running and fundraising team that raises money for neuroblastoma research. In 2011, our team of 9 women raised over $51,000 and ran in the Nike Women’s Marathon and Half Marathon in San Francisco, California. In 2012, our team grew to 12 members and we set our sights higher. We raced in the Long Beach International Marathon and Half Marathon and raised a staggering $106,482!

Along with my teammates, I run for the kids that can’t- the warriors and the angels. Every step and every race takes us one step closer to giving childhood cancer a swift kick in the ass. I run to be the change… in the lives of these little superheroes.

Always act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.
