Oliver Blake is on the B78 advisory committee and brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. He has recently completed his PhD at Simon Fraser University in Neuromuscular mechanics. Oliver earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Guelph in Mathematics and a Masters degree at SFU. His Masters thesis was in Muscular & mechanical efficiency in cycling. He is currently focusing his research in the sporting arenas of cycling and skiing. His knowledge of muscle firing activity, recovery and general sport biomechanics is rare and we are excited to have him as part of the B78 team.
Oliver’s athletic career is impressive as well. He competed nationally in downhill skiing and has quietly racked up an impressive list of accomplishments in the Endurance sports world finishing 16th at Ironman Canada and running an impressive 2:30 at the Toronto waterfront marathon in 2005.
Oliver attended the NCI in Victoria BC and received his level 4 coaching accreditation in 2004. He frequently leads coaching clinics and seminars in the ski industry.
