Be genuine to yourself and to all around you, the competition is with yourself, no-one else.
I am incredibly lucky to have an amazing family that I am so proud of. They have caught the endurance sport bug and despite ups and downs show immense spirit and determination. Good on them and good on all those who take on those inner demons and overcome them. B78 are to be congratulated on their untiring support and encouragement. You are all awesome!

If you were stranded on an island what book would you want with you?
Captain Corelli’s Mandolin – amazing book!
Chocolate or Vanilla Ice Cream?
What is the hardest workout you have ever done?
I still remember one turbo session on the patio, overlooking Harrington Sound, Bermuda, in the full sun and pushing myself to work harder and harder until I had lost and replaced more fluid than I thought possible in one go!
If you could have dinner with one person (living or deceased) who would it be?
Bizarre but for a good reason – Robert Mugabe or Hitler or Idi Amin or Pol Pot. I would want to know if they understood the pain, desperation, anguish, despair, misery etc etc that they caused their fellow man and whether they had any feelings or emotions when faced with the effect of their tyranny. If there was a deep understanding of how they functioned maybe we could stop such atrocities in the future.
How long can you hold your breath for?
1:30 – just checked on stop watch.
