Three Days. Three Races. Three Personal Bests. Claire Gemmell at the Bermuda Triangle Challenge
The Bermuda Triangle Challenge is one of the most unique and demanding running events on the calendar in Bermuda. Three days of racing. Three different distances- an awesome challenge to take on. This year, Claire Gemmell didn’t just survive the challenge, she absolutely thrived.
Over the course of the three-day event, Claire raced the Mile, 10km, and Half Marathon, and in an incredible display of fitness, execution, and resilience, she set personal bests in all three events, back to back to back.
The challenge opened with the mile on Front St. under the lights. Claire delivered a breakthrough performance. She stopped the clock at 6:50, dipping under the 7-minute barrier and setting a new personal best. In the 10km, Claire once again exceeded expectations. Heading into the race with a goal time in the 55–57 minute range, she ran fearlessly and efficiently, finishing in 50:31, a PB by several minutes. After already racing hard on back-to-back days, Claire lined up for the Half Marathon with a goal of breaking 1:55. She didn’t just meet that goal, she surpassed it, finishing in 1:53:38, securing her third PB in three days.
Setting a personal best is never guaranteed. Setting three, across different distances, on consecutive days, is exceptional. It speaks to Claire’s ability to show up and race when it matters. Claire was understandably excited with her performances, and so are we. This was a standout weekend and a great reminder of what’s possible when preparation meets opportunity.
Huge congratulations to Claire on an epic Bermuda Triangle Challenge 🇧🇲🔥
