Riding to Remember: Gerard Poitras Completes the BCLEM Ride

This September, Gerard Poitras, took on an incredible challenge: the 11th Annual BCLEM Ride to Remember. The Ride to Remember is more than just a cycling event, it’s a moving tribute and a way to honour those who serve. This year’s edition took riders on a 3-day journey of over 400 kilometers, from Abbotsford to Victoria, BC, finishing at the iconic BC Legislature. Covering long back-to-back days in the saddle, the ride demands not only fitness and endurance, but also resilience and camaraderie.

The Journey

• Day 1 (Sept 25): Vancouver to PRTC Chilliwack – 152 km

• Day 2 (Sept 26): PRTC Chilliwack to Delta Police Department – 142 km

• Day 3 (Sept 27): Greater Victoria to The Bastion at the BC Legislature – 110 km

For Gerard, the ride was a chance to test himself across multiple days, connect with fellow riders, and be part of something truly meaningful. The BCLEM Ride to Remember isn’t just about the kilometers covered, it’s about the spirit of remembrance and community. Riders come together to honour and recognize the sacrifices made by first responders and to ride for a purpose beyond themselves. Gerard’s participation exemplifies the power of sport to connect, inspire, and give back.

We couldn’t be prouder of Gerard for representing B78 Coaching on this meaningful ride.
