Round Two: Gerard Poitras Rides to Remember (and Feels Better Doing It)

Some people do a hard thing once and happily tick the box. Gerard Poitras came back for more.

For the second year in a row, Gerard rode the BC Law Enforcement Memorial (BCLEM) Ride to Remember, roughly 400 km over three days on the last weekend of September. The ride brings together active duty officers, retired members, families and emergency services personnel to honour Canadian law enforcement and peace officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. It’s a big ride with an even bigger purpose.

In a nutshell, he crushed it. Gerard called it a great time and a very successful ride, but the line that made our day was this one: he felt way better this year than he did last year. Same route, same back-to-back days in the saddle, and a stronger, happier rider coming out the other side. That’s exactly what we’re after.

A big part of that goes to coach Kylie, who built a schedule around the limited time Gerard actually had to train. He followed the plan as best he could and it worked. No 20-hour training weeks, no magic formula, just a smart plan that fits real life and an athlete willing to show up for it.

Huge congratulations Gerard!

Got a big goal and a busy life? That’s our sweet spot. Drop us a note below and let’s build a plan that fits.
